Hello, I’m Chris.  Self confessed hoarder of  recipes; in cookbooks, written in notebooks, torn from magazines, and jotted on scraps of  paper salvaged from the bottom of my handbag. The recipes  are stacked as books on sagging shelves, bulge from drawers or can be found stuffed in Celebratingthe pages of other cookbooks,  the different  handwriting denoting the generous gift of a cherished recipe of a friend or family member.  The ones well used are smudged and smeared with past ingredients, writing faded to almost illegibility,  notes to myself scribbled in the margins .  The exact one I’m looking for can be hard to locate, and so a blog is born.  A way of organising my recipe collection, being more mindful about what I am adding or changing and sharing what has worked for me.

I am a partner to a wonderful man and the mother to three beautiful boys.  For a very long time I was a social worker, and was also a project manager, a waitress, a nanny and a Flim Flam Telegram performer. That last one is testimony that I was also once young, thin and flexible enough to crouch inside a cake ( but that’s another story, best delivered with a little glass of something)

I love food and start thinking about the “what’s for dinner” question from early morning. I love a gathering of friends and family, cooking for the people I love and seeing them happy.  I love eating out and trying new food and wondering how I could do the same thing at home.
